Finland Tamil Sangam was started in 2015 by a group of like-minded young enthusiasts. It was later formally registered as an association with Espoo Council in 2015. It is a non-profit organization promoting Culture, Art, Literature and Tamil Language. It also helps in charitable causes encompassing people living here. It strives to raise, solicit, collect, and dispose funds and donations for charities, cultural, educational, and humanitarian purposes. The Finland Tamil association is commonly known as FINTA. The common unifying factor has been the diasporic interest proactively in Tamil language, Culture, Arts, Cuisine and these things continue to be FINTA’s success factors in integrating the Tamil people from all walks of life. Finland Tamil Association is devoted to preserve, perpetuate and promote our rich Tamil heritage and to foster understanding, friendship, goodwill, networking and appreciation between Tamil-speaking people.
Tamil is one of the oldest languages in the world, with literature books dating back 100 BC, spoken by more than 60 million people in Tamilnadu, a state located in the southern region of India. Mission FINTA was started with the mission to get together the Tamil speaking people living in Finland and also to preserve and nurture the traditions and culture. It gives an opportunity for the younger generation to understand and cherish the same values. About US After the successful Pongal event in 2015, a group of volunteers brainstormed in the post event meeting and agreed that we will register it as an association formally. We have had three successful events to our fame since then. Our success has been truly its people who have selflessly contributed in every little way and our little super stars. Not to forget the organizers who have been a boon and a pillar of support and who continue to inspire others. |
